Competition Rules & Standards
At Teks Shooting Club, every match is conducted in a safe, fair and structured way in accordance with official IPSC standards.
Below you’ll find clear summaries of the rules that apply to each shooting discipline.

General Rules
Safety First
- Firearms must always be handled in a safe direction.
- Chamber must be clear when required.
- Eye and ear protection is mandatory.
- Unsafe handling results in immediate disqualification.
Cold Range Policy
- Firearms may only be handled under RO supervision.
- No loaded firearms except under direct match control.
- Handling permitted only in designated Safety Areas.
Range Commands
Competitors must comply immediately with official IPSC range commands:
- “Load and Make Ready”
- “Are You Ready?”
- “Standby”
- “Stop”
- “Unload and Show Clear”
Disqualification Grounds
- Accidental discharge
- Unsafe muzzle direction
- Finger inside trigger guard while moving
- Unsportsmanlike conduct
- Prohibited substances (see Anti-Doping)
Core Safety Principles
- Cold Range policy applies at all times
- Firearms handled only under RO supervision
- Unsafe handling = immediate disqualification
- Eye & ear protection mandatory

- Matches balance Accuracy, Power and Speed (DVC principle)
- Freestyle problem-solving encouraged within safety limits

- Non-compliance may result in match penalties or disqualification
Target Construction Standards
- Hard cover must comply with IPSC specifications
- Targets may not be hollowed or overlapped incorrectly
- Maximum height restrictions apply
Anti-Doping Compliance
All IPSC competitors are subject to international anti-doping regulations.

Overview
Action Air follows IPSC structure but uses air-powered firearms.

- No repetitive stage design
2026 - 22LR Handgun Rules
Division Compliance
- Must follow IPSC format

2026 - Mini Rifle Rules

- Must comply with IPSC Mini Rifle appendix
2026 - Grand Tournament Rules
A Grand Tournament consists of two or more IPSC component matches scored independently.
Structure
- Each match scored separately
- Final ranking calculated using percentile scoring
- Disqualification in one match does not disqualify entire tournament
2026 - Action Air PCC & Rifle Rules
Action Air PCC and Action Air Rifle competitions at Teks Shooting Club are conducted in accordance with the official IPSC Action Air rulebooks.
Both disciplines follow IPSC principles of:
- Safety
- Freestyle stage design
- Balanced challenge (Accuracy, Power and Speed)
- Structured match formats
Action Air PCC
- Must comply with IPSC division requirements
- Equipment subject to inspection
- Maximum power limits apply
Action Air Rifle
- Must comply with IPSC Action Air Rifle division standards
- Equipment must be safe and serviceable
- Rifle ready conditions and stage commands follow IPSC structure
Power & Chronograph
For Action Air disciplines:
- Chronograph use is limited to verifying maximum power limits
- No minimum power factor requirements apply
- Testing procedures follow IROA standards where implemented
